Vuulr is honoured to win the Intellectual Property (IP) Innovation Award in 2021, organised by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) & IP Office of Singapore (IPOS).

It is recognition of how Vuulr has been using unique IP to create a B2B marketplace that supports the ecosystem of IP rights holders worldwide, by bringing together Buyers and Sellers of entertainment content from 160 different countries around the world.

“We’re very proud to have won this award from the World Intellectual Property Organization. Both because of the technology we’ve developed and the success that we’ve been having in the industry,” says Ian McKee, Vuulr CEO. “As a business, we believe in supporting the creators of intellectual property and their ability to be able to reap their rewards from making films and TV shows.”

The Vuulr marketplace started with 30,000 hours of content. Now, registered users can browse over 170,000 hours of movies and shows in more than 90 languages on Vuulr. Buyers can put in an offer for broadcast rights through the platform directly to sellers and negotiate a deal. Some 1,800 licensing transactions have been done on Vuulr.

The WIPO-IPOS IP for Innovation Awards is an annual award in its ninth year. It celebrates businesses in Singapore that have achieved outstanding growth through the successful use of intellectual property.
