The new Vidio Shopping feature—powered by Shopee integration—lets viewers purchase products directly from the screen they’re watching.

Vidio, Indonesia’s #1 OTT platform, officially launches Vidio Shopping with “Vidio Affiliate Shopping Ads,” making it the first OTT platform in Indonesia to integrate online commerce affiliate features directly inside its programming. Through a collaboration with Shopee, this initiative delivers a contextual, seamless shopping experience—allowing viewers to instantly buy products that match the content they are enjoying.

This collaboration underscores the platform’s potential to drive commerce and support businesses of all sizes. It is a strategic step for Vidio to reinforce its role in Indonesia’s fast-evolving digital ecosystem. Content commerce in Indonesia has rapidly matured—from merely informative content into fully integrated, direct sales channels across digital platforms and social media—aimed at creating a new, more engaging way to shop.

From today, Vidio users can discover relevant product offers directly within their favorite content. In this first phase, the integration is being implemented across marquee titles such as Premier League, Asmara Gen Z, and various Vidio Original Series, where viewers can see and purchase products—such as beauty items—through Shopee without leaving the screen. This is the first step toward an increasingly contextual and personalized shopping experience. Moving forward, the feature will evolve with personalization capabilities so each offer can align with users’ interests and viewing behavior. By merging entertainment and e‑commerce, Vidio opens up a powerful new path to naturally and relevantly convert viewers into buyers.

To date, Vidio Shopping is in a trial phase with 15 brands already onboarded into this content‑commerce ecosystem, including Wondermist, FFAR, Majika, Wardah, Emina, Kahf, Make Over, Samsung, Somethinc, Amaterasun, Hint, Nivea, Eiger, Colorbox, and The Executives.

Mutia Nandika, Chief Revenue Officer, PT Surya Citra Media, Tbk., said, “For Vidio, this is the next evolution of digital advertising. We are committed to delivering solutions that let brands integrate naturally into content—so they can reach audiences at the most meaningful moments while they enjoy their favorite shows.” “We are excited to partner with Shopee—Indonesia and Southeast Asia’s leading e‑commerce platform—through Vidio Shopping, which expands our synergy,” Mutia added.

Monica Vionna, Senior Director of Marketing Growth, Shopee Indonesia, commented, “Shopee is pleased to collaborate on Vidio’s innovative program, which smartly turns the most engaging moments in a show into a relevant and seamless shopping experience. We believe this collaboration can help sellers on our platform connect with even more prospective buyers through Vidio’s compelling content. Going forward, it will drive growth and sales uplift for MSMEs and local brands.”

The Vidio Shopping trial period begins on 25 July 2025, marking a concrete step in Vidio and Shopee’s collaboration to deliver digital advertising and online commerce innovations that blend naturally with current Indonesian viewing behaviors. With this feature, viewers can easily shop while watching the content they love. They can see the full list of tagged products and related information through a banner or cart icon that appears in the content. A single click on a chosen product takes them directly to an external sales page for a fast and easy checkout.

Louis Boswell, Chief Executive Officer, Asia Video Industry Association (AVIA), said, “We applaud Vidio for pioneering a new frontier where premium local OTT content meets regional e‑commerce at scale. This collaboration with Shopee shows how Southeast Asia can lead with its own playbook—innovating beyond imported models to create real value for audiences, brands, and the wider ecosystem.”
