BBC Studios and Huawei Video agree multi-territory content licensing dealMarch 26, 2020 4:10 pm
BBC Studios and Huawei Video today announced a deal to deliver 300 hours of brilliant British content direct to Huawei mobile devices across 26 territories worldwide.
From global-hit drama Call the Midwife and new comedy-drama Ghosts, to the darkly hilarious Inside No 9 and the incredible science series Wonders of the Solar System, Huawei customers will be able to view programmes from BBC Studios Distribution via Huawei Video on their smartphone, tablets and other Huawei mobile devices. With 300 hours of premium British programming available on Huawei Video, there will be something for every fan of British programming, across drama, comedy and factual.
The deal, covers mainland China, Hongkong SAR and Asia, as well as countries across Western and Central Europe, Russia, the Nordics, the Middle East, South Africa and Latin America. It builds on local deals that have been secured for individual titles in the past and is the first substantial pan-global licensing deal between BBC Studios and Huawei. BBC Studios content will on-board Huawei video in overseas market was also announced earlier today at Huawei’s P40 product launch.
