Advertising – Funding the Illicit IPTV Ecosystem

Ad misplacement on piracy websites damages the reputation of brands as well as provides the primary source of illicit revenue for piracy website operators. The APAC ecosystem for illicit services looks substantially different to the US and EMEA, with consumers more likely to opt for free advertising funded Live Streaming websites and apps rather than subscription models.  What does that mean for the funding models of these piracy services , and what does it mean for brands advertising?  Can we keep legitimate advertising from illegitimate services?

Peter Szyszko, CEO, White Bullet

With Neil Gane, General Manager, AVIA Coalition Against Piracy (CAP)

17:20

Perspectives from the Government and Private Sector

Shifting Goal Posts – Is there Meaningful Engagement with the Tech Sector?

When it comes to the  technology and content industries there’s inevitably a discussion about the importance of working together to enhance anti-piracy approaches, techniques and technologies – but it often feels the goal posts are being moved away from the content industry.  Can the collaboration ever find an intersection that will satisfy everyone?  Will convergence of the two parties get us there, or are the issues too deeply entrenched that meaningful engagement is dictated by government positions?
